Samson Adeyemi

I am 18 years old and currently studying A - levels in Sciences and Maths at Shootershill Post 16 Campus, Greenwich. I am passionate about issues that affect young people. That’s why I’m a youth advisor in Dare London. I was the Youth MP for Lewisham in the UK Youth Parliament. I love inspiring young people through public speaking and writing. I enjoy playing table tennis. Just like John F Kennedy said’ think of what you can do for your country and not what your country can do for you’. I know that together, we can make a difference!

Coelle Beaupierre

I aim to empower young people helping them to turn their aspirations into reality.

I can't change no one - change comes from within but I can make their choices transparent.

My name is Coelle Beaupierre I am 22 years of age and a Youth Worker.

Sarah Akbari-Kamrani

I’m currently studying Law at King’s College London. Aside from DareLondon, I’m involved in various other volunteering projects such as mentoring sixth-form students from local schools and attending dance classes regularly. I decided to become a DareLondoner to become more involved with issues that affect young people and to meet a wide range of interesting people.

Tekla Balfour

Hi, I’m Tekla and I currently work as an IT Help Desk Analyst for a large charity in Essex. I’ve been involved in various areas of youth work over the past few years, working in various capacities around the UK and even overseas in places such as Botswana and the Democratic Republic of Congo. I’m currently part of DareLondon so that I can continue to voice my opinions and be a voice for young people. And also to work on challenging concepts and the negative stereotypes that are often associated with you people. My interests involve photography, live music and Japanese culture.

Oscar Burton Xi

I Joined Dare London completely independent of the three partners, receiving a mystery email containing an application form! It has given me some great opportunities and a feel of being part of something that is actually working towards proper conclusions. Personally, I have a great interest in media, cooking, comedy and conversation, and minus the cooking, I think these skills benefit my status as a DareLondoner. Recently I've been a bit lapse, but hope to retake a more active roll in the near future.

Victoria Ijeh-Okusanya

My name is Victoria Ijeh-Okusanya. I am currently studying media arts. My main interest is film; I have made a few documentaries some of which have been shown on BBC2. Why I became a DareLondoner is because in the research I do for my different documentaries, I have come across a lot of youth who are always seeking to do something constructive but without the facilities or knowledge of the things out there. I would like to help these youth by myself knowing what is out there to pass the information on while also advising organisations about how to reach these young people.

Kulraj Singh Bhangra

I strive to serve the public and be a fair representative of Young Londoners. I love learning about life, different religions and the cosmos hence leading me to have a keen interest in Maths and all the sciences especially Physics. I find Medicine to be one of sciences’ greatest applications. However, apart from academics, I am a huge sports enthusiast being an avid basketball, squash and badminton player.

Tyrone Francis

Hi, I am Tyrone Francis. I am 23, from South East London and I have been a member of DareLondon from when it first was created. Currently I am in my last year studying for my BA Business with Computing Degree at Greenwich University. I also am a voluntary youth worker at my local youth club and I work in H. Samuels Jewellers on the weekends as well. The reason why I initially joined the advisory board is because I wanted to be a part of a youth network that was trying to help make a change with the issues that young Londoners face on a daily basis. This is my third year with DareLondon now and I am really enjoying my experience on the board, working with a lovely group of young Londoners who vary from all area s of London and different ethnic backgrounds. Finally I have enjoyed all of the opportunities that I have been given to represent DareLondon, and look forward to all the future events and opportunities that will be given to me.

Esther Sherato

My name is Esther Sherato, age 18. I am studying Ancient History at Reading University.  I am on the DareLondon advisory board, and Evolve advisory board. I am also involved with several other projects all to do with young people. I love working with young people, because they inspire me and have so much to give back to the society. I am a big promoter of love, supporting and serving the community.

Siana Bangura

As well as being a DareLondoner, I am a History student and amateur reporter/ presenter.  I enjoy going to gigs and listening to alternative music. I am proud to wave the flag for vegetarianism and hope that there will be more of us as time goes on and we learn about the consequences of our excessive lifestyles. I am also an enthusiastic debater and public speaker. I would really like to make break-dancing my secret party trick...we'll see about that one!

Brian Taylor

Hello, my name is Brian Taylor and I'm 18 years old. I'm a first year undergraduate at City University studying Music; I commute from my home in Romford so I still enjoy my mum's cooking! I have a passion for youth empowerment and feel that, in the current environment and all the negative press young people receive, it is important we give young people everywhere the chance to express their views and opinions. I really enjoy working with like-minded people, who share the same passion as me, but also people who give me a bit of a debate! I believe we have all these characters this year! This is my second year on the DareLondon youth advisory board and it looks like it's going to be an even better experience than last year!

Saydul Alom

Hello, the reason I chose to be a DareLondoner is to represent young people, I know how difficult it could be, when you feel that you don't have anyone to go to when you have a problem, so that was my main objective. Other reasons were more about getting the experience and taking responsibility and actually making a difference. Having an opportunity to speak out is a rare chance to get, so that was very important to me.

Tobi Lawal

Hi everyone my name is Tobi Lawal, I am currently a Masters student studying Mechanical Engineering and Design. I come from South London and I am passionate about enabling young people like myself to broaden their horizons and seize opportunities. We are the tomorrow and it is important that the organizations of tomorrow as well as ourselves understand the implications of that. At DareLondon the young person’s view is sought after, heard and acted upon, something that I am proud to be part of. I also have a keen interest in Public Sector/Service innovation, and the new methods used to make the services we receive more relevant and effective.

DARELONDONERS

Blake Carter-White

Hi, my name's Blake. I'm 18 years old and I live in South London. I am currently training to be a Youth Worker - I will be studying for my degree from next September! I joined DareLondon through London Youth; the opportunity to assist 3 organisations on their engagement with a variety of young people is something that really inspired me to apply. As a keen advocate for youth participation and engagement, DareLondon is perfect in allowing me to focus on this element of my work.

Christian Fadoju

I am Christian Fadoju, a 19 year old Youth Worker from Lewisham Borough. Throughout the week I dedicate 30 hours to volunteering with 14-19 year olds in South London. I am very passionate about making a positive change in my community, and also empowering other young people to do so as well; that is why coming onto DareLondon was a perfect match for me. Attending DareLondon's meetings is a MUST. It’s like being in a council for superheroes, with each individual being from all different ways of life, sharing their knowledge and gifts, all together to shape and change the society we live in and create a better future for generations to come.

Beatrice di Francesco

Beatrice is passionate about helping others in any possible way she can, in hopes of saving the world in the future. In order to save the world, however, she figures, you have to know it: that's why she firmly believes in Diversity with a capital "d", a Diversity that is ethnic, religious, cultural, and social. She is proud to be a DareLondoner because she wants to be part of this Diversity and be able to represent the different communities she belongs to. Beatrice is always undertaking new challenges like trying -not always very successfully- to cook, learning other languages, and starting Jujitsu. She is currently studying in London.

Amrita Ghosh

Occupation: Student, studying Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Maths & Further Maths

Hobbies : Getting involved with lots of organisations that work to let young people have a better life with more opportunities besides which I enjoy going out shopping, with friends, swimming, CHESS, reading.

Why DareLondon: DareLondon is not JUST ANOTHER charity working on behalf of children and young people but it gives us the youth a voice of our own. DareLondoners get to play very important roles in decision making and recommendations for other youth organisations as well and I felt it would be a lovely way for me to get my say in shaping the future of the children and young people of London.

Sam Gnanapragasam

Seventeen year old, male, London resident. In keeping with the stereotypical media-echoed view, I’m apparently also a monstrous gun-carrying, knife-wielding being... but I’d like to think young people are, contrary to the claim, delightful. (I would also like to think I tend to be in the latter group!). I am excited to be part of DareLondon in having the privilege to represent young people across London and make services across the three partner organisations responsive to them, ensuring that the wide and diverse views that young people possess are heard. If this year at DareLondon we could challenge stereotype, help tackle social problems, and demonstrate that we, young people, are not apathetic, but the leaders of the future and today in meeting the societies’ challenges - that would be grand too!

Natalie Grant

I am a university student studying Social Science, which ties in quite nicely with many of the projects I work on. I have organised events, been a reporter/interviewer for launch events, worked with TV producers and TV companies, magazines and various medias for young people (and some of them by young people), worked alongside many important people in the business, most recently Tim Campbell (Apprentice winner 2005 and founder of Bright Ideas Trust). I like to travel, whether it's up and down the UK or overseas, I like travelling because I feel it broadens my mind to see beyond the horizon. I'm a DareLondoner because I'm passionate about young people's voices being heard and to ensure their needs and concerns are being met.

Chantelle Kelly

I’m currently studying for my A Levels. My main hobbies are singing, studying and Facebook lol. I got involved with DareLondon because of the passion and enthusiasm it has for young people and making sure that we are well represented among those with the ability to affect change. This was the perfect initiative for me to be a part of, as this is what motivates me in my everyday life. My other passions our music and history, and I hope to go and study Law at uni October 2010.

Rosie Knight

Rosie Knight is a spoken word poet and takes part in educational projects getting young people involved in writing and performing their own original work. She is a Young Ambassador for the Princes Trust, which is how she became involved in DareLondon.

Olu Ogunbanjo

Born in Nigeria and moved to England at the start of the millennium. I have always had a passion for design and went on to study an Art & Design course in college and then a foundation course at uni. I got involved in youth work through a family friend who founded a charity and went on to join the Peer Outreach Team at the GLA. It was through my work with these organisations that I was able to gather the experience and have the opportunity to become part of the DareLondon Youth Advisory Board. My name is Olu and I am 20.

Daniela Oliveros

Born in Venezuela, Spanish is my first language. I was volunteering for the past 6 months for the Policy and Innovation team at the Prince’s Trust. I love Politics, food and foreign cinema. Am a member of the youth advisory board for DareLondon, Shine festival and Young Ambassador for the Prince’s Trust. During the summer I did 4 days’ work experience at Number 10 Downing Street. I am a member of DareLondon because I want to be able to help shape policies affecting young people; I want to challenge the views that society has about young people by participating in activities and playing my part. I am working at the moment for the policy team at the NCVYS. Hope to be able to build enough experience so I am able to represent young people professionally.

Dami Opemuyi

I'm Dami (and Karisma is my musical alter ego). It's a privilege to work with DareLondon, who have embraced my enthusiasm for the issues affecting young people. I'm currently a PA at Brunel University! Feel free to pop in if you ever venture to the Wild West. I love working in positive environments where everybody just wants to be successful. It's a great motivator! I left a graduate PR job in the City to attend to the issues affecting my peers, my future and also to take my relationship with one of society's most powerful tools - Music - to another level.

Ayobola Owatemi

My name is Ayobola Owatemi. I am 18 years old and currently attend Cass Business University. My favourite being football and I support the best football team in the world... Arsenal.

Zaman Qutbuz

I’m Zaman. I’m a student taking a gap year and hoping to go to uni next year. Born and bred in Shoreditch, East London, and raised around a lot of youth crime and violence. I’m a DareLondoner so I can represent for the young and the underprivileged. Helping young people is my passion.

Safa Salah

I'm Safa and I'm 16 years old. I have recently joined DareLondon because I believe it would enable me to state my opinion and have my say about young people and the improvements that I believe would make a better/safer community for everyone. Also being a DareLondoner links with other organisations all over London, so it gives you a lot of choice in other projects to get involved in. As well as being a DareLondoner I'm also part of the Peer Outreach Team and I found out about DareLondon through there.

Aj Shazad

I am a recent addition to the DareLondon team. I am representing London Youth on the board. I have joined DareLondon with a view to be able to make positive changes for the greater well being of young people in London. Outside Dare I volunteer and campaign for a few other charities all focused on young people’s empowerment. I also enjoy politics, sports and economics. I have graduated recently and secured an investment banking job in the city starting from September 2010.
